So tomorrow I am faced down with an issues that has been going on in my marriage for 12 years, my mother-n-law. Now don't get me wrong I do not hate her, or wish any harm to come to her, however we are so much alike that we tend to bump heads a lot.
Seneca and I did not get married the right way. We went behind our parents back, to the court house when we were 19 and just did it. We came home and then told everybody and wait for the reaction. Needless to say it was not good. None of our parents welcomed the news, but the excepted the fact that it was nothing they could do about it.
Well for the life of me, I am not sure why 12 years have past and she and I are not much better off than what we were back then. I mean, we seem to always squash things, but then we find something else to disagree about. I know this is putting lots of strain on our marriage, because I know Seneca loves his mother and he wants her to be apart of our family. However, things just always seem to get a bit messy.
I have to say, we had a talk right after Madison was born and I thought all was cool. But to be truthful, I don't think I honestly believe that she was being totally honest about her feelings and I know I was not being totally honest with mine. So tomorrow, mother-n-law, Seneca and I will have a face to face, heart to heart talk. So I need as many prayers as I can get.
If I can be honest I need prayer that this meeting does not get out of control. I don't tend to fight fair when I feel like I am being attacked and I know she does not like to hear when she has does something wrong. The only party that tends to fight like a Godly person is Seneca. So please pray that we all talk, not fight like we are looking out for the best interest of our family.
